Human Rights Watch Speaker Series: Global Vaccine Inequity with Dr. Paul Farmer and Tirana Hassan
Globally, more than 4 million people around the world have lost their lives to Covid-19. At least another 194 million people have been infected; many have fallen severely ill. With nearly every country in the world having reported Covid-19 cases, the social and economic consequences of the pandemic have been devastating and far reaching. Vaccines against Covid-19 are critical to ending the pandemic and saving lives, but while science delivered several vaccines at record speed, distribution has been harshly inequitable, leaving billions of people behind.

Dr. Paul Farmer, medical anthropologist and physician, co-founder of Partners in Health, who has dedicated his life improving health care for the world’s poorest people will join HRW Deputy Executive Director and Chief Programs Officer Tirana Hassan to discuss disparities in Covid-19 vaccine access.
